When it comes to improving health, we all know that staying active and exercising improves your health, but what you fuel your body with can be just as important. March is National Nutrition month, an annual event in which the focus is on learning about making informed food choices and developing healthful eating and physical activity habits.
To celebrate National Nutrition Month, I’ve partnered with BabbleBoxx to share a few simple ways to up your nutrition game and some new-to-me products that I’m loving that help me to reach closer to my nutrition goals and work toward whole body wellness.
Gut health can have a huge impact on whole-body health. When it comes to gut health, it’s all about making sure you have lots of helpful bacteria to help your body function properly. Studies continue to show support that having a healthy gut microbiome can support whole body health, such as immune system, mood, mental health and more. Prebiotics and probiotics are both important components to support your gut health.
To add a boost of prebiotics to my routine, I’ve been loving Apple Cider Vinegar Refreshers from Bragg. Prebiotics are a source of food for your gut’s healthy bacteria and can help bacteria grow more optimally in your gut which allows your digestive system to work better. Prebiotic packed Bragg Refreshers are packed with fruit juices, teas and spices and 2 TBSP of raw, unfiltered raw apple cider for a boost in nutrition and daily dose of wellness! Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar Refreshers are super convenient to take on the go and are made with fresh-pressed lemon juice, organic honey and ginger for a delicious taste. Everyone in our home loves these, even the kids who snuck off to share a bottle together.
Eat More Plants
Adding more plants to your diet is a great way to aid your health. Plant-based foods are loaded with lots of nutrient goodness, are often lower in fat and cholesterol and a simple way to support your health. You don’t have to make the full switch to only eating plant-based foods to get the benefits. Even switching just a few meals a week can make a big impact.
One easy way to make getting more plant-based meals into your routine is plant-based meal delivery services like Veestro. Veestro makes fully prepared, 100% plant-based meals that you can have delivered right to your doorstep. They’re super convenient and take the guess-work and time out of trying new plant-based meals. With Veestro, there’s no chopping cooking or cleaning – you simply heat, eat and enjoy! The flavors of the meals are amazing (the enchilada casserole is my favorite) and I love that it gets me off the hook for cooking now and then too.

Educate & Explore
It’s so important to be an active participant in your health and being a lifelong learner is part of that. I love finding books that help me dive further into learning and expanding my knowledge. Eat This Book from Running Press is an awesome book that is packed with so much helpful information about unique farmers’ market finds, pantry staples and global ingredients. The introspection on familiar foods led to gaining a new appreciation of them and I loved learning about the backstory on these foods too. I really loved the bright and fun imagery throughout as well.
Eat This Book is a beautiful illustrated food book with chapters on Spices + Condiments; Nuts, Beans, + Grains; Fruits, Veggies, + Herbs; Coffee, Tea, Booze, + Other Beverages; and Sweets + Sweeteners. It’s an entertaining read and a great way to learn about your favorite foods and ways to optimize them to boost your nutrition.
When it comes to snacking, I reach for high protein and/or high fiber. Aside from keeping me full longer, they give me sustainable energy to keep me energized and going all day long.
One of my favorite snacks are Meat Sticks from CHOMPS. Chomps meat sticks have no added sugar and are made with the highest quality proteins, including grass-fed and finished beef and venison and free-range turkey (the jalapeño beef sticks are my favorite!). I love keeping them in the car and my purse for easy and delicious snacks-on-the-go!
